Opening Ceremony of the Online Language Program of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Held at LZU

The Online Language Program of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship was initiated at Lanzhou University for the first time. Starting this month, 297 students from 23 countries around the world will be offered online Chinese training for one semester or one academic year.
On the afternoon of March 24th, the opening ceremony for the Online Language Program International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship was held at LZU. Chi Gang, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and also Director of the Office of the Confucius Institute, Zhang Wengang, Dean of the SICE, Zhang Jianfang, Professor of the SICE, Liu Xiaoyan and Li Chunlin, Deputy Deans of the SICE, Smailova Aizhan Bolatkankyzy, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Farida, Director of the Sinology Teaching and Research Office of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Paltore Yktiyar Moldatoreuly, Foreign Dean of the Confucius Institute of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
According to Prof. Zhang Jianfang, with specialized and characteristic course design, and on the basis of full research and the needs of students, the curriculum is divided into four modules, namely “Improvement of Advanced Chinese Comprehensive Ability”, “International Chinese Education and Teaching Skills Training”, “‘One Belt and One Road Initiative’ and Contemporary China” and “Appreciation of Chinese Culture and Literature”. It is hoped that through the 12-week online learning, students can improve their advanced comprehensive ability of Chinese, understand Chinese culture and Chinese national conditions, and master the methods and skills of international Chinese teaching.
